*Students have the opportunity to earn chance tickets. When they earn one they will write their name on the back of the ticket and drop the ticket in the chance box. On Friday 5 names will be drawn and those 5 students will get to go to our classroom treasure box. We also talk about probability during this activity. The more chance tickets they get in a week, the better their odds of getting their named pulled!

Group rewards: There are 5 groups in our classroom. The students will create the names for their tables sometime in the first week of school. The groups earn chips by doing the right thing in class (CHOMPING). At the end of each week we count the number of chips that each group earned and write that number down. At the end of the month we will see which group has the highest amount of chips and that group will get first choice of which reward they would like. In order to provide a positive classroom environment I give everyone group an opportunity to pick a reward of their choice, but the group with the least amount of chips would have to pick last.
Some things groups have won include: homework pass, computer time, 5 minutes more to Fun Friday, treasure box item, eat with teacher
