Reading: Throughout fourth quarter, the students will focus on reading and comprehending narrative and expository text. We will review the reading strategies learned first quarter, text structure of expository text learned second quarter, and narrative elements learned third quarter. The students will also explore a variety of reference sources including encyclopedias, almanacs, atlases, the internet, and trade books.
- Writing: The students will write a research report this quarter. They will develop three guiding questions about their topic, take notes from reference sources, and organize the information in a 3 point 5 paragraph paper. The 3 points will be the 3 guiding questions each developed into a paragraph. The other two paragraphs will be introductory and conclusion.
