Zoology

Projects:
  • Insect Collection
    • Will begin with school.  Will need to collect 30 insects and 5 arachnids.  Display boxes (uniform boxes of any kind), jars, fingernail polish remover, cotton balls, labels, and pins required.
  • Animal Enrichment in cooperation with Henson-Robinson Zoo
    • A zoologist from HR Zoo will give a lecture on animal enrichment and the students will research enrichment techniques.  Students will choose an intended animal and create an enrichment object for that animal.  We will have a field trip to HR Zoo on 10/31/2008 where the students will introduce their object to the animal and collect data.
  • Cell City
    • Students will create a city with each part representing part of the cell by function.
  • Fish Tank Implementation
  • Dissections of a variety of animals throughout the year
