Step one- Narrow your topic. Think about questions you have about your topic. What would you like to learn? What might a beginning tech wonder? What questions might a customer ask?
Find articles/resources. Highlight and make margin notes.
Mr. K has three sources that you may use (or not use) as you see fit if you are writing about waterborne paint. We have modeled the highlighting and margin note strategy for you below.
Here are some strategies to help you write notes--while avoiding plagiarism! HINT! Don't forget the in text citations! Use the strategies to quote effectively and to paraphrase information. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see files to help you with taking notes and avoiding plagiarism.
See file below for info on writing an outline.
Your outline is due to Mr. K so he can make sure that you have enough information and correct research details in your paper.
This is an opportunity for you to get feedback on the ideas you discuss in your paper.
There is a file posted below with expectations for the outline. Please note that the model
contains only four body paragraphs. Your paper of will require more
than four paragraphs. The number of paragraphs in your paper will be determined by the
information you include and how you choose to organize the information.
Standard practice suggests the a paper of this length would include a minimum of seven or eight paragraphs.
See the file section below for more help developing an outline. Please don't stress about Roman numerals and that type of formal format. Feel free to organize with main ideas and details. Bullets are fine to help organize the details under each main idea. This will help your paragraph organization when you write your paper. There is info and a template on Teams.
