Journal summary- one to two page debrief on presentation.  What was the best part of the presentation?  What would you change if you could and what did you learn?

Wednesday –      Vocabulary chapter 1 Economics book.
                              Read to Chapter 20 in Anatomy

Thursday -           Arrive early 7:55 at the latest for my drivers and Malone!!!!
Questions for Judge Main AND Janet Duprey. 
At least one transaction on stock market game is due.

Friday -                 Anatomy read to chapter 25 – Quiz for chapters 15-25.
Ret. US Border Patrol Officer Robert C. Singer guest speaker – bring questions
Define SuperPAC and turn in definition to Mrs. Warren – research project to follow this definition, so make sure you understand the definition!

                              REVISIONS DUE for paper, MUST have suggestions from Mrs. Warren.  Attach original to revision.  I want hard copies!!!!!

SATURDAY -        Meet at Courthouse Brewster Street Parking lot at 9:00 a.m. if you’re marching with the Viking Horde.  Wear warm boots!!!

Monday -             Current Events return!!! Team 4 will lead the way.  This semester current events will be focused on two topics – economics and politics. 
Look into Steven Colbert’s SuperPAC, as Mr. Colbert is famous for his parody, exactly what point do you think he is trying to make about our political campaign contribution system?  Bolster your research on campaign finance.  Do you think the system should be changed?  Write a 1 ½ page summary of your findings and include your personal reflections.
Handout 3 (p. 26) ON A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER!!! (Reminder:  Chapter 1 IS handout 1.)

Tuesday -             ROTATIONS/Journals due
Current Events Team 5
Get a reading buddy for Nickel and Dimed read to chapter 1, including introduction.  Book buddies unite!!!  This will be graded in a discussion type format, rather than quizzes.  However, it is important to note that this book will be a springboard for us to have other assignments that will be graded on a quiz/test weight.

Wednesday -      Anatomy read to chapter 27,  Exam on part one of the book.
POS 101 – Road to the Whitehouse – who is left in the GOP race?  Be prepared to discuss the race, the issues and primary/caucus results to date.

Project Prohibition: make PowerPoint, or other electronic presentation, of your project – rough draft.

Friday -                 Current Events ALL teams- bring in news articles about BJ McCann and his kidnapping charges.  Use Press-Republican archives, Adirondack Daily Enterprise articles and for extra credit Malone Telegram articles that may be found at the library on microfilm.  Read them and be prepared to discuss the case.
“Create your own project” – bring in a topic of your choosing to be the “project” portion of the upcoming College Week.  Project must be approved by Mrs. Warren.  Creativity will get you points.  Minimal requirements: must be 5 minute presentation, to be presented to class. 

1.       A paper may be written and presented (not read from), or

2.      an A/V presentation may be made – PowerPoint, prezi, or 3D project will be accepted. 

3.      Works cited MUST be included for either style project.

Important note:  the project itself will be due March 2.  All that is due on 2/10 is the idea for the project.

                              Pick one of the Presidential candidates for the 2012 election.  Bring in an article that                                              discusses their plan to get the US out of the economic crisis. Write a summary of the                                  article and be prepared to discuss in class.

Native American Day Essay – As invited guests to the Constitutional Convention, Iroquois leaders met with members of the convention.  The Convention then used ideas based upon the Iroquois Confederacy in developing the US Constitution.  In 300-500 words, write an essay, using citations and a work cited page to describe the influence of the Iroquois Confederacy on our nation’s government.  Due Wednesday, October 12.

Tuesday -             DA tour – Bring two questions for him.
