homework 10/12-10/16

Trimester 1 Progress reports will be sent home Monday 10/12 and due back Friday 10/16. For Students who have fallen below a C grade, I encourage you to see me after school for help as needed or encourage parent conferences any time now. We do not have to wait until December for it. Please call or email me. For Students who are doing C grade and above, please do some self reflecting and see if you are where you should be. Some A/B students can get complacent and may not be working to their potential. Please check power school often as I tend to make comments to help communicate.  Sincerely, Mrs. Tucker

Please see below for anyone who is absent.

Monday 10/12-  vocabulary words from 2-3. We got caught short on time in class which I had planned to give you to do these words. So for those of you who did them already, you have none. For those who have not, please complete them as homework on your key term worksheet tonight.
2-3 words are:  Reflection, Refraction, Image, Lens, Convex lens, Concave lens.

Tuesday 10/13-  vocabulary words for 2-4. For this section please do all words. If you should get caught short on spaces on the key term worksheet, you may use the  margins, print off another one from this website or use a piece of notebook paper. (please remember to do it in the key term worksheet style).

Wednesday and
Thursday 10/14-
10/15.               Please  Answer the Key Questions  on Page 52 for 2-3 and Page 62 for 2-4. Make sure you take time and answer them throughly. It might help to do them in your note taking style of preference.(cornell, traditional, or graphic organizer/concept mapping). If you think making a drawing will help as well, by all means you are welcome to do so.

Section 2-3  Page 52 questions are:
                        1. What does the law of reflection state?
                        2. Why do light rays bend when they enter a new medium at an angle?
                        3. What determines the types of images formed by convex and concave lenses?
