Meet the Teacher

A NOTE FROM THE TEACHER ...

Dear Parents,

I am so excited to be your child's teacher and look forward to all the experiences we will have together in room 728 this year.  Please visit this site often to know what is happening in reading and what we are working on.  Email with your questions, as that is the quickest way to get in contact with me.  I hope you can stop in and say hi, and please let me know if there is anything you or your child needs.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Teemant

Q1 Book Project

Students have selected a fiction novel that they are reading for the next two weeks. They should also have a vocabulary bookmark to help them find 20 new vocabulary words they would like to get to know better. They need to write the word and the page number on the bookmark.

Students will be creating a book brochure at home and a digital book talk at school, where they can share their understanding of the novel after reading it.

PICTURE OF THE WEEK!

Students can earn extra credit each week, by using the picture of the week to figure out the who, what, when and where.  Each day in class, I will give them another clue to help guide them to research and discover what our picture of the week is about.  I will place the picture of the week on the webpage.  Please note that I will not include a citation for each picture until the week we are using it is over. I don't want to tempt anyone to cheat!

There are links on each page to provide worksheets, handouts, instructions to projects and activities for the students to use.  In order to open these lings, you will need Acrobat Reader on your computer.  You can download this program for free by visiting www.adobe.com.
