Welcome to Mrs. Scepura's English class. This site is new for me this year and it is a work in process. I hope you will use the site to get information to support your learning. I am often asked to explain the difference between English class and reading class. We read and write in each class, however our purposes are different. In English we read pieces that model what we are trying to create in our own writing. In reading the focus is primarily on comprehension. In terms of writing, English will use the writing process. Several pieces will be taken through the prewrite, draft, revision/editing, and final product stages. We will also focus on grammar. We use the 6+1 Writing Traits approach to teach writing.
