Third Grade Reading Skills

Main Idea - Sequencing - Cause and Effect - Inferring - Author's Purpose - Predicting - Analyzing Literature - Context Clues - Fact and Opinion - Figurative Language

Here is a picture of my Reading Street Focus Wall for grade 3

At the top I have the signs for the Concept of the Unit and the Theme Question and then across I have each Week labeled.. week 1, week 2, etc.

Down the left I have signs for: Question of the Week, Genre & Title, Comprehension Strategy and Skill (skill is missing from this pic but I added it to the pink sign) and then Vocabulary Strategy.
These are all the things taught for each story...

I wrote the questions, skills, strategies, etc on large index cards and matched the marker color to the background construction paper color :)
