Students will be introduced to topics and careers in the field of sports medicine. Students will be required to complete a limited number after school observation hours at home games and practices through out the year. Major topics discussed include injury prevention, injury treatment, and injury rehabilitation. Students who have an interest in a medical or allied health related career are encouraged to enroll in this course.
Students will need a 2 inch binder and approximately 25 tab/dividers for notebook assignments, as well as typical school supplies such as paper, pens/pencils, and possibly notecards. I suggest each student have a flash drive to store papers and projects.
Each quarter students are required to complete two sporting event observations as part of their notebook assignments. These will be explained in class and can be completed at Mountain Ridge or non-Mountain Ridge sporting events.
