November News

Indians and Pilgrims, sharing special times with families and friends, symbols of the seasons and learning about America.  These are the
themes kindergarten will be exploring this month.

We will continue our learning of shapes, numbers, alphabet names and sounds and everyday words.
The "Everyday" or sight words we will be working with this month are: I, see, my, a, like, the, to.  Please save and practice all books and activities that come.

In math we are working with numbers to 10, building them, breaking them apart into partners, writing them and working with them in calendar concepts.  We use pennies and nickels to create the number of the day and days in school.  Keeping a calendar at home helps children organize their world and make home and school connections.  There's lots of opportunities at home to help reinforce number recognition and concepts!

The first week of November is parent/teacher conference week and Mrs. Steele's class will be attending 10:10-1:30 each day.  There is NO SCHOOL Friday November 6th. We look forward to meeting with you and sharing what a terrific job your little one is doing at school.  If you have forgotten your conference time please call the office.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday November 11th to honor Veterans Day.

We will have a feast and Thanksgiving Program Wednesday November 25th.  Our program will be in the multipurpose room at 11:00.  We welcome all families to come and hear the children recite and sing Thanksgiving songs.  The children will be off from school the next two days, November 26th and 27th.

Many thanks for all of your help and support.  We had a FANTASTIC Halloween party thanks to all of your donations and work in the room.

We are Thankful!
