LA/SS Dear students and families,
It is with much sadness that I must inform you of an upcoming leave I must take. I was diagnosed with a tumor on my spine this summer, and it has been determined that while it’s not cancerous, I still need to have it removed immediately. I will be out of the classroom from November 16th through the holiday break. I hope to return on January 4th, 2010. Your long-term sub will be Mrs. Traci Sullivan. She is extremely competent and capable. She has her teaching certification in French and is also able to teach my LA/SS classes. She subbed for me on October 22, 2009 and did a marvelous job. Starting on November 16th, you can contact her at tsullivan@lwsd.org if you need to get in touch with her. I will be checking email very sporadically while I’m out, so all classroom related emails should go to her. I trust that you will treat her with the same respect you treat me with. ALL classroom rules and procedures will remain the same. She may choose to teach things in a different way than I do it, and that’s okay…in fact it’s a good thing! You will have different teachers in French and LA/SS in the future and change is good. Thanks for your good thoughts about me while I’m away.
