About MeI was born in Valley Stream, New York and moved to Wayne, New Jersey when I was 3. When I was 7 I moved to Laguna Hills, California and graduated from LHHS. I attended college at the University of California, San Diego and studied chemistry with an emphasis in education. I received my Bachelor of Science in Chemical Education with a minor in Human Development. After completing my undergraduate degree, I continued my education to receive a Masters in Education at UCSD. A few years ago I met the love of my life, we got married at the end of 2008 and had our first son in 2010.
Science has been a passion of mine since I was that little kid who wanted the chemistry kit for Christmas. I absolutely love teaching chemistry and finding new ways to make it make sense to my students. For two summers I had the opportunity to be a student in science again as I participated in an internship program through The Scripps Research Institute. In the summer of '06, I did research in protein synthesis and alzheimer's in the Kelly Lab. In the summer of '07, I was very fortunate to work in the lab of K.B Sharpless, a recent nobel laureate who studies CLICK chemistry reactions. I have had a great time applying what I learned to what I am teaching and I look forward to telling many stories of my experience. |
