Welcome to my homepage. I want to thank Scott Hayden for all his help. He was a great teacher! Please be patient with me as this is a work in progress. I hope that this site will be helpful to you.
Please email me if you have any questions. :) It is hard to believe we are all ready looking to start another school year. It seems as if summer just began. The beginning of the school year can be a little hectic. To help your child feel more confident about the start of First Grade, we have listed some important information. The School Day: Your child should not arrive before 7:30 a.m., which is when teachers begin morning playground duty. If you choose to have your child eat breakfast at school your child will need to arrive at 7:30 a.m., Your child can place his/her backpack outside classroom and go to the cafeteria. If your child is not eating breakfast he/she can place backpack outside classroom door on his/her way to the playground. It is very important in the morning you do not walk your child down the hallway. In First Grade we encourage the children to build some independence. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated. If you need to pick your child up before the end of the school day, please send a note in the morning. If you want to change your child’s dismissal plans we also need a note. We are not always able to check our phone messages before the end of the day. If an emergency should occur please call the office to inform them of any changes. School dismissal is approximately 2:20 walkers, 2:25 Pick-up, 2:30 Bus. Breakfast and Lunch:Send in your child’s breakfast and lunch money on Monday or the first day of the school week. Please put your child’s money in a sealed envelope or baggie marked with your child’s name and my name. If you child is having breakfast at school he/she can go directly to the lunchroom at 7:30. Snack: We will be having snack every morning. Your child is welcome to bring a snack from home to eat during this time. We request that you send healthy small snacks. We eat lunch fairly early. Your child will not need a drink at this time as they have access to the drinking fountain. We are trying to reduce spills in the classroom. We appreciate your cooperation. Clothing: Children often have similar clothing so we ask that you put your child’s name on all clothing. . It is important that your child dress in layers. The morning may be cooler in the Fall and Spring and warm up as the day goes on. Your child should wear long sleeves or have a sweater or sweatshirt in the winter. The classroom can sometimes be cool. The children love to run and play on the playground. It is important that your child wears comfortable rubber soled shoes. When the weather is warm it is suggested that children not wear flip flops. We want your child to have a fun and safe time while playing out on the playground.
