Classroom Expectations

I will be using the Responsive Classroom  Approach model.  We will be spending the first six weeks working to create an environment that is warm and safe.   During this time we will be spending time  practicing the schedule and routines of the school day and the expectations for appropriate behavior. The children will be taught how to use and care for the materials in their classroom and school.
Together we will create the criteria or rules for our classroom.   We will also talk about the consequences when those rules are broken.  We will begin each day with a Morning Meeting.  The morning meeting allows us to begin each day together as a community.  It also sets the stage for what will happen for that particular day.  This will help to build caring and respectful learners.
Equally as important is support from home.   Parent partnership is very important.  Please contact me at anytime you have questions or concerns about your child.   I look foward to the year ahead.
