HOMEWORK

Sept.26-Sept. 30, 2011 

Parents:

Establishing routines is important to keep your children organized. Please help them with their weekly reading logs by checking to see that they're signed each week. I collect them on Mondays.

I am also sending home an AR progress report today. Please look it over carefully to monitor your child's efforts with reading homework. Please sign it and return it to school. I'll send these home on a regular basis. Thanks!

We will be going on our first field trip to see the Reno Philharmonis Orchestra at Pioneer Center on Oct. 3rd from about 10:40-12:30. Because of limited seating, we will not be having chaperones join us. We're asking that students bring a cold lunch that day.

  Each day

> Read for at least 20 minutes

>Record reading minutes on your log

>Complete your math homework and practice facts

Monday– Complete math homework page. Show your work! Put it in your Homework folder. Put your homework folder into your backpack. Read your AR book  for 20 minutes!  Retell the story as you read. Make predictions. Visualize while you're reading - make a movie in your head. Record your minutes on your reading log. Be sure to bring your AR book to school with you everyday. Start to study your spelling words. Practice your math facts flashcards. 

Tuesday –  Complete math homework page. Show your work! Put it in your Homework folder. Put your homework folder into your backpack. Read your AR book  for 20 minutes! Record your minutes on your reading log. Be sure to bring your AR book to school with you everyday. Study your spelling words. You can complete the practice page, do rainbow spelling or have someone at home give you a practice test and write the words three times if you miss them.

Wednesday – Early release at 2:15. Complete math homework page. AR read for at least 20 minutes. Study spelling words.

Thursday– Complete math homework page. AR read for at least 20 minutes. Spelling test and math facts (+0,+1 and +2 ) tests are tomorrow. If you passed last week, your quiz will also be on +3's . .Are you ready? Please bring your spelling practice page to school tomorrow so I can check to see that it's done.

Friday –  Remember to read over the weekend!   I'll collect your completed reading logs on Monday. Double check that Mom or Dad signed it! Incomplete reading logs will mean "Recess Reading" and a lowered citizenship grade.
