This site is for my students to use to find helpful information for completing my classes. Their parents can also find useful information for helping their students be productive in my classroom.
Specifically,
1) My students will use my webpage to find helpful links to online videos and tutorials that may help them complete assignments at home. (Helpful Links)
2) My students and their parents will use my webpage to see important upcoming dates for chapter tests, standardized tests, project due dates, and competitions. (Class Calendar)
3) My students will use my webpage to find resources we will use as a class to complete lessons and work on assignments. (Classroom Resources)
4) My students and their parents will use my webpage to see pictures from my students and their interesting projects and presentations. (Class Pictures)
5) My students and their parents will use my webpage to find contact information for me and the administrators at Hayes Center Public Schools. (Contact Information) 6) My Quiz Bowl students and their parents will use my webpage to view competition dates and results. (Quiz Bowl) Design Summary: Home Site: The Home Site page will become the target page for this webpage. It will serve as a welcome page, will have easy-to-use logos to assist in navigation to other pages, and it will provide links to my grading system and my list of rules and consequences. I will use a banner from my school's old website that fits well at the top of the page and clearly establishes that this website is to be used in association with Hayes Center Public Schools. I will also include links to the sources of all icons and graphics that are used on the page. Below this Home Site will be three pages dedicated to each of my math classes--Math 7, Math 8, and Algebra. Algebra Math 7 Math 8 Each of these pages will then be broken down into five other pages for a class calendar, class pictures, helpful links, classroom resources, and announcements. Class Calendar - List of important dates of upcoming tests, standardized tests, semester tests, field trips, etc. Class Pictures - Pictures taken of students working in class, completing projects, having fun in class, etc. Some pictures will also be used on main class page. Helpful Links - Helpful links to online videos and tutorials, test preparation, and appropriate math games that students and their parents can access outside of class Classroom Resources - Links to programs and activities that we will actually use in class to supplement lessons and start assignments. Announcements - Announcements specific to that class (changes in assignments, upcoming events, etc.) Also below the Home Site page will be a page dedicated to the junior high and high school quiz bowl teams that I sponsor. Quiz Bowl There will be specific pages for each team that will list the teams' schedules and results and there will be a page of links to quiz bowl practice sites. Eventually, pictures will be added to these pages from our events.
