As the school counselor, I regularly visit each classroom to teach classroom guidance lessons. I work with students in grades 1-5 on tracks 1 and 2 during odd months (July, September, November, January, March, and May). During even months (August, October, December, February, April, and June) I work with students in grades 1-5 on tracks 3 & 4. I work with all kindergarten students (tracks 1, 2, 3 and 4) each month.
 Small units of learning are taught throughout the year focusing on character education, personal growth, social skills, academic development, bullying, personal safety, violence prevention, conflict resolution, career exploration, and transition (to Kindergarten and middle school).
Each of the units are developmentally appropriate and include engaging stories, hands-on activities, and skill reinforcing lessons. Additionally, monthly lessons correlate with the WCPSS character trait of the month and a tailored to meet individual classroom needs.
