Unit 2 Math Vocabulary

1.       rounding- expressing a number to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand and so on.

2.       estimate- to give an approximate rather than an exact number.

3.       fact family- related facts using the same number.

4.       divide- to separate a number of items into groups of equal size

5.       divisor- the number by which anther number is to be divided.

6.       dividend- the number to be divided.

7.       digit- any of the symbols used to write numbers: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

8.       array- an arrangement of objects or numbers in rows and columns.

9.       chance- a possibility.

10.    sum- the answer in addition

11.    difference- the answer in subtraction

12.    product- the answer in multiplication

13.    quotient- the answer in division
