Welcome to Mrs. Hanscom's Language Arts website!
It has been great getting to meet the 2011-2012 Princeton students!
It will be a pleasure working together to making this a successful year for all Princeton students!
- Daily homework and reminders will be posted on the Team Princeton website. Generally, students will have homework Mondays through Thursdays. Each night, they will be expected to complete a page from their PB, GPB, and SPB workbooks.
- Please login to Infinite Campus to check your child's up-to-date Language Arts grades and any missing assignments. (If you do not have access, please contact Ms. Ford in Guidance.)
- A letter was sent home outlining all of the Language Arts expectations and procedures at the beginning of the year. Parent signatures were required to acknowledge that you have received and understand the letter.
- Students should be reading 20 minutes a night from their independent reading books. Independent Book Approval Verification Slips have been sent home. Quarterly projects will be assigned. The next one is a Non-fiction Design a Selection Test project. Requirements were sent home and are attached on the bottom of the Reading and Book Recommendations pages. Templates are also available. It is to be passed in no later than April 20, 2012. We took a trip to the library on March 19 to allow students some time to check out books for this project. Students are encouraged to choose a book at their level that won't be too challenging or too easy. Try out the "Five-Finger Test" to see if the book is at their level.
- Please check out some of the previous years' Hawks and Princeton Teams' Book Reviews for great examples of writing and book recommendations. Please enjoy the works of our many talented writers!
