National Art Honor Society

East Carteret has had a chapter of the 
 National Art Honor Society since 1993.
 
We are very active.

"Fun Nights"

to be held once a month - PARTICIPATION IS STRONGLY URGED!!!
Refreshments will be provided.

 

" We Thank You Book Marks"
Thurs. Oct 20th (service project)  *******

We will make block print bookmarks to use as gifts to teachers
and other school personnel to show appreciation.   
Everyone is required to make at least 10. 
We will also be giving some
to the Public Library to establish good public relations.

"Pumpkin Carving Contest"
Oct. 27th

"BYOP" (bring your own pumpkin) 
I'll have carving utensils, but could use more.
These will be displayed on Friday, and prizes will be given!!
Original designs only for the prizes. 

"Teach Your Family"
Tues. Nov. 17th  

Bring a family member, show them what we do, and teach them one of the following:
Marbling; Block Printing (pre-carved); Watercolor
 

“Locker Magnets - simple gifts”
Nov. 22nd
 

Bring your favorite photos; magazines; and small art to make into buttons or magnets
Make great gifts for friends and family
Only .50  per button (each member can make two at this price)

We will sell others for $1.00 button, or $1.50 per magnet button

 "Goodness Gracious, Great Balls of Art!"

Bring a firm toy ball and your imagination!
(large Christmas ornaments could be good as well – look for sales)

    

Each ball will be painted according to the individual and displayed
 from the ceiling by monofilament.                                 

These can be realistic; portraits landscapes, objects.
They can be abstract,
or even based on a famous work of art. 

Balls should be no smaller than 8in in diameter.  BUT… can be as LARGE as you want!
