Our Wedding‎ > ‎

The Details

Attire

My handsome husband!  Love the Vineyard Vines tie.

And The Dress...

The Shoes!

I did two pairs of shoes.  The orange shoes for the reception (I LOVE these!) and the Gold wedges (below) for walking on the beach.  My MIL gave me the silver dollars to wear- a family tradition on her side- and we kept them in with double-sided tape.  Believe it or not, it they actually weren't uncomfortable.  The wedge helped with walking in the sand, but it was still tricky!

Our Rings

Ceremony

I purchased the fans from Luna Bazaar- in turquoise, orange, and fuchsia.  I also ordered bright orange chiffon sashes to tie around the chairs.  While folded, they look almost garishly bright, unfolded, tied and against the white chairs, pale sand, and deep blue/turquoise water, I think they look great!

Because of hurricane damage to the original beach location, we ended up able to have a canopy/chuppah provided to us by the hotel.  Given the time of day (2 o'clock in the afternoon) it was fantastic to have the shade cast from the canopy.  Otherwise, we would be squinting madly.  I think that rental fees for the canopy are a total rip-off, but I'd still strongly suggest considering it (or building your own depending on island resources/ability) given the sun factor.

Jesus, the harpist.  He was fabulous and learned a hymn especially for our wedding.  I REALLY appreciated that.  He also played following the wedding ceremony while folks were standing around the MorningStar lobby area.

I printed out a few reserved seating signs on the same Tiffany-colored paper.  Not sure that we really needed it, but just in case

My Honorary Bridesmaids with the Parasols

Reception

One of our signature cocktails!

I ADORE how the place cards turned out!  I printed them out on textured heavy cardstock from Michaels and taped them onto votive candleholders with double-sided sticky tape.  The florist added the orange rose.  No water (I assume to prevent spilling?) and the flowers held up beautifully all night.  These were my only flowers on the table (for budget reasons I did not want to spend hundreds on flowers that people may not even notice) and it worked great with the setting (in my opinion!).

Our donation favors!  One "dog" was at each person's plate (as seen below).  Our kids are a huge part of our lives- as is volunteer work and animal rescue- so it was a great way for me to honor our kids and give back.

I designed the menus using the same design as the invitations.  Since there were 35 menus and I was still about Gocco'd out from the invitations, I printed all the menus and then taped onto coordinating cardstock.

I created table numbers based on virtues of marriage- Love, Commitment, Faith, Patience, and Devotion.  I Gocco'd the design (part of the design used on the invites) and printed the words with our color printer. Again, used double-sided tape to adhere to coordinating cardstock.

And our guest book- a coffee table book of St. Thomas.
