In Fundations, our Phonics unit, we have been working on writing and reading 2 syllable words.Whenever vowels are separated, the word must be split into 2 parts or syllables between the 2 separated vowels.Examples of words that your child needs to spell are upset,cobwebs, admit, public, picnic,bathtub, napkin, Justin and plastic.
Some words just can't be sounded or tapped out.They are called trick words. We just HAVE to learn them by heart!!!!!The trick words for this unit are people, Mr. Mrs. years, says, little, good, very and own.The test for this unit will be on Friday, April 3, 2009. |
