paper and diy

I created the layout below in photoshop, and  will be printing them onto large magnets from Vistaprint.  I was able to take advantage of one of Vistarint's fantastic discounts, and got 100 large magnets (about 5.5" x 4.5") for  $52 including shipping!

Update: I received the Save the Dates in the mail (VERY quickly) and as it turns out, I spelled "accommodation" incorrectly.  Idiot.  However, I'm really pleased with the quality and customer service from vistaprint, and it won't break the bank to re-print them, so I placed a new order (along with some return address labels) and will hopefully be getting the new ones soon!

Update #2: Got the reprints! Woo!  Here's a picture...

Eli seemed a little concerned about people knowing to go to the website from the magnet alone, so I mocked up a couple of ideas using cardstock, my monogram squares, and ribbon, attaching the magnets with clear photo corners. I'm leaning toward the yellow one (some will be blue and some yellow but I like the shape of the yellow one in the picture better), but I want to use a more opaque, satin-y ribbon.

These will allow me to include more info - like a message saying we've reserved hotel rooms, etc, just to clarify.  I'll probably do a layout for the message text in powerpoint and then print it on cardstock - it would go on the upper folded part of the ones that fold, and on the back of the one that doesn't.

Update #3: I created the card to go in the save the dates with hotel info.  I made it in photoshop and printed them on cardstock, and they ended up coming out pretty nice:

Update #4 (the last one): Save the dates are finally finished and out the door!  We ended up using the more rectangular enclosure with 4 versions - blue with white and blue ribbon, blue with white and yellow ribbon, yellow with white and blue ribbon and yellow with white and yellow ribbon.

Behold, the finished product:

I've decided to take the plunge and DIY my invites.  I'm pretty psyched about it, which I'm sure will fizzle once it hits me how much work it is.  I've ordered pocketfolds and some cardstock from cardsandpockets.com, and flourish stamps from paper source.  Here's some invites I've used for inspiration:

I love simple layouts with a flourish or 2.  I'll be using the stamps below (with blue ink) that I purchased from paper source to create the look

Here's my first attempt at a layout.  The grey patterns will be eliminated when I print it, and I'll use the stamps in their place (so they'll be blue).  More to come!

Instead of numbering our tables, we're naming them after places we went to on our European adventure during which we got engaged.  I don't know the final number of tables, but we have at least 20 places we can work with, and will probably have a couple of photos on each table.  Each one will be a photo we took at the particular place, modified slightly to look vintage-y.

I'm planning to get small wooden easels from Ikea to hold them.  I'll print the photos at 5x7 size and mount them onto foamcore, and then place them on the easels on each table.

Here are the first 3 I've completed, for Paris (where we'll be sitting):

aaand here are the rest I finally finished - 2 for each table:

Since we're not doing the disposable-camera-on-the-tables thing, I decided to follow the lead of some other knotties and make photo sharing cards.  I used moo.com and printed 100 of their minicards for about $20.  I used the same damask pattern from our Save the Dates, and they just came in the mail!  Here's the finished product (with my awfully-in-need-of-a-manicure nails, for size reference)

The color looks a little washed out in the photos but whatev... I'll be putting these in low square vases (matching the centerpiece vases) at different places throughout the reception.

I heart vistaprint.  I created this monogram in photoshop, and uploaded it to vistaprint's business card size.  They offer 250 free business cards, so I ordered them and then cut the excess off the sides so they're squares.  I'll use these on a ton of stuff from STD inserts to centerpieces...

These will go on/in all of the out of town bags (99% of our guests are out-of-towners). Inside the bags, I'll put some brochures for activities, maps, contact info, a schedule and some goodies!

Once again, Vistaprint is amazing. I took advantage of an offer for 100 free postcards to print these and they came out fantastic!  Here's the final product:

PHOTO GUEST BOOK

Okay, so this one was DIY with the help of Shutterfly.  I created a 20 page photo book with pictures from throughout our relationship, leaving space for signatures and messages.  Now to figure out what type of pen to use...

Here are a couple of examples of pages:
