We are coming to that crazy time of year; hard to believe. I am in the process of implementing the end-of-the-year assessments for reading, writing, spelling, and math. Your children have made fabulous progress!
We will continue to follow our daily routine, for the most part, in order to keep some semblance of order through the exciting end-of-the-year activities.
Some of the activities we are participating in include the school-wide Spring Frolic, a visit from author Jason Chin who wrote Redwoods, listening to a Music concert by the chorus and bands, a field trip to Montshire Museum, and a party to celebrate Summer birthdays on June 16th. Please send in field trip permission forms as soon as possible. Also, if you are able to donate a treat for our birthday celebration, it would be greatly appreciated.
We are now required to keep all classroom doors shut to be in compliance with Fire Code. Now that the weather is beginning to warm up (?) our room gets stifling hot. I have brought in two fans that provide a small measure of comfort, moving the hot air around. My suggestion is to send your child to school in shorts and T-shirt with close-toed sandals or sneakers. The goal is to keep the kids cool and available to learn for the next two weeks.
The last day of school for the students, barring any other natural disasters, will be June 17th.
Have a nice week-end,
Liz Edwards
