At Brown Elementary, music is an important part of the elementary life. General music classes are taught based on the Indiana State Standards and using both Kodaly and Orff methodologies. Music instruction includes singing, playing percussion instruments such as drums and xylophones, creating, moving, reading, and more. Students participate in a vareity of activities that vary between grade levels. Activities include participating in National Anthem Day, grade level performances, choir, and Orff Ensemble.
