Kindergarten is a very busy place! We work hard and play hard too! You will be amazed at how much we've learned by the end of the school year! Our general daily schedule is as follows: 8:00 Drop off begins (Drop your child off at the front door. The principal or a teacher will be there to greet your child. An older, responsible student will escort your child to the kindergarten meeting spot!) 8:15: Bell Rings (We all gather for morning assembly in the gym. We will skip this the first day or two of school.) 8:25: Head to our classroom, unpack snack from bag, notes from home, Friday folder, etc. 8:30: Meet on the rug for morning meeting, calendar and letter work. 9:00: Reading Groups (We rotate between 3-4 stations, 15 minutes each.) 10:00: Snack 10:15ish: Indoor Play 10:30: Outdoor Play 10:45: Story Time, Word Work 11:05ish: Journal 11:30: Lunch 12:00: Recess 12:20: Music, Movement or Story 12:30: Math 1:30: Various Activity, Lessons (Science, Social Studies, Art, Computer, Thematic Activity) 2:05: Pack up 2:15: Dismissal (We sit on the stone wall to the left of the front entrance. Wait until I dismiss your child before taking them please.) |
