World Forum Projects Start This Week!

We will be starting our culminating World Forum Unit this week in class.  Students will be voting on a class topic for their research and will be choosing the country that they will be representing at the Forum.  Students may work alone or in pairs .  Research will begin on Wednesday (A and E) and Thursday (D and F) in the library.  Research will not be assigned as homework; however, there will be homework assignments asking students to process their research and prepare for their World Forum presentations.

We are starting our South America Unit this week.  Our theme for this unit is interactions and we will focus on interactions both within South America and between South America and the world-- specifically their initial interactions with Europe.

Last Call for East Asia Letters!

All East Asia letter projects must be turned in by Friday April 17!  No credit will be awarded to projects turned in after this date. 
 
(Original due dates were March 23 A and E periods and March 25 D and F periods.)

Africa Statistics Project- Week of 4/6/09

We are working on a mini project which involves analyzing population statistics throughout the different regions of Africa.  Students will be looking at trends in these statistics and hypothesizing the reasons for these trends.

East Asia Unit Test Coming Up!

The East Asia Unit Test is coming next week!  A and E periods will have their test on Tuesday 3/17 and D and F periods will have their test on Wednesday 3/18.  This is an open notebook test so students can use their binders but they should also study as well since there are no retakes this time!

East Asia Unit Project

We are currently working on our East Asia Unit Project.  Students are researching an assigned East Asian country and will be writing a letter next week as if they were a person from that East Asian country writing to a student Pen-Pal at Amherst Middle School.
