I am proud to say I have been an East Carteret Mariner for 28 years. I came to Carteret County in 1981 from the Greensboro area. After graduatiing from Southeast Guilford High School, I attended Wingate Junior College and graduated in 1973. Five years later, after working several jobs that I did not enjoy, I decided it was time to continue my education . In 1980 I graduated from Greensboro College with a degree in Special Education. I worked one year at a private school and then moved to Carteret County. My two children, Lindsay and Chuck, were born here so this is home to us. I can't imagine living anywhere else.
I teach the Occupational Course of Study. This semester I am teaching Occupational English I and Occupational English II. My morning is spent each day doing paperwork and holding meetings.
