Hello!  My name is Robin Barnes and I am happily joining the Poly Upper School Science Department.  I come from New Jersey, where my husband and I lived for 7 years.  We are both North Carolinians.  I have taught both high school physics and chemistry for the last 12 years, taking the last school year off after my first son was born last November.  I received my undergraduate degrees from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and my graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, PA. 

I love to teach.  While I never expected that I would become a teacher, I discovered, after student teaching, that it was my destiny.  The idea that I can influence a young person's life via science is my catalyst. 

When I am not teaching I am with my son and/or walking my dogs and with any free time I have (ha ha) I like to do yoga, hike and read epic novels (currently Gone With the Wind).
