IB Test Practice
The Grand Finale - The IB Test! Overview of the Test Students typically take the IB Exam during the spring of their senior year. It is important that you understand what to expect in order to achieve the best grade possible. Paper 1 - Multiple choice on the core topics. Students must answer ALL of the questions in this section. Paper 2 - Short answer and problem solving on core topics. There are two parts to this section. Students must answer all of Part A. Students get to choose one of three questions to answer in Part B. It is important to read over all three questions in Part B briefly so that you choose the one that you know the best. If you answer two or more questions in Part B you must indicate clearly what you want graded. If the grader can not determine what you want graded they will simply look at the first question that you answered. Paper 3 - Short answer and problem solving on the option topics. Questions will be given to you on all the options and you only need to answer questions from two of the sections. Make sure that you answer the questions from the options that we studied in class! Test Topics Core Topics: Stoichiometry, Atomic Theory, Periodicity, Bonding, States of Matter and Gas Laws, Energetics, Kinetics, Equilibrium, Acids and Bases, Oxidation and Reduction, Organic Chemistry Option Topics (that we are studying in class): To be determined. Data Booklet IB provides you with a data booklet for use on Papers 2 and 3 only. It contains a periodic table, equations, chemical structures, and some data that you will need for the test. |
