It's said they get: GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome. The inexperienced think the more they buy, the more advanced the technology they have, the more amazing their work will be. It doesn't work that way. More gadgets and gizmos usually become a huge distraction. Novices may try to "buy" a sense of artistic accomplishment by getting all the glitzy stuff available them, but it seldom works, because art is never about the technology.
