Before we start with Video Production, it is important to understand the purpose of the videos. At the top of each of your sub-wiki's there is a paragraph detailing the types of videos that you need for your wiki. These videos need to be student created. I know some of us have been embedding videos from YouTube, etc., but the project has specifications for student created videos that tell the "story" discussed in your sub-wiki, specifically in the current/emerging sections and/or the predictions sections. Following is the phrasing that is at the top of all of your sub-wiki's: Videos should be created and embedded by students in the appropriate places on this page to tell the story. The videos may be under any category: current analysis or predictions. See the help files on video specifications, outsourcing, video numbering, tutorials and information on music. Make sure you have the copyrights to everything used on this wiki or in your video and cite your sources! In other words, all of your wikis should have videos under either the current/emerging heading or the predictions heading. The outsourcing video shows that you do not have to create all of the parts of the video yourself, but need to post the need for clips for the video. The outsourcing video demonstrates how to submit that request. We will video record some of the requests, and the other schools will record some of the requests. With that said, on with video production: I intended to make a video demonstrating storyboarding and its importance, but the American Film Institute did a fantastic job at it (and they got Sean Astin to host it - I know, I'm probably better, but at least you'll think of Lord of the Rings while he talks). The American Film Institute StoryBoarding Glossary of Common Film Shots that you saw in the video is the second part of this handbook. The first part covers basic screenwriting. We will have to do both with your teams The entire AFI handbook, The 21st Century Educator's Handbook: Protocol and Materials Guide to the Screen Education Process, covers the complete process - start to finish, conception to edited final product. |
