Photography and Developing

Portfolio – 1st Quarter

Worth 25 points per photo

 

Each student must create a digital portfolio using Google Sites of the following photographs in these categories:

 

·        Portraits – three photographs: use three different subjects.  These are planned photographs.  Pay special attention to the arrangement of your subjects.

·        Still life – three photographs: use three different subjects.  Give attention to shadows and the arrangement of objects in your subjects.

·        Landscape – three photographs: use three different subjects.  Be creative.  Vary your time of day and/or weather conditions.

·        Sports – three photographs: use three different subjects.  These must all be action shots.  Try to get as close as possible without interfering with the game.  Photograph at least two different sports.

·        Architecture – three photographs:  use three different subjects.  Find interesting buildings or houses and photograph them.  Pay special attention to the lines and geometric forms of the structures.

Each photograph must also have a caption next to it indicating the following:

1.     Title of the photograph

2.     Date the photograph was taken

3.     Reason the photograph was taken: what was appealing about the subject and/or the point of view that you took the photo?

4.     What is technically significant about the photograph or the subject: discuss the impact of lighting, shadows, focus, depth of field, framing, lines, emphasis, etc.
