Theology IV Ecclesiology: Church History and Church Mission

Course Objectives:  A semester long overview of the history of the Catholic Church with an emphasis on the lives of the saints.  In studying the history of the Church we will gain a clearer understanding of what the true mission of the Church is and how modern Catholics can take part in this mission, bringing life into our world.

New American Bible

Text: The Church Through History; Harcourt Publishers ( This will be largely for at home reading assignments but on occasion we will use it in class, it is critical that you bring it when I ask you to.  Also, have it in your locker always, in case I am absent, as the sub will have a reading assignment in the text)

*** Not having any of these on a regular basis will lower your in class grade.

 

Grading and Academic Policy: 

Tests:                30%

Quizzes:             30%

Homework:       30%

In Class Work: 10%

 

Late Assignments ( for non-absentees):  One day late drops the assignment one letter grade; two or more days equals a zero.

 

Make up work if absent:  see your handbook

Format for all work:  All work must have your full name, date, period and what the assignment is in the upper left corner.  Five point deduction if this is not complete.

 

Extra Help:  I can be found every day after school until 2:20 in room 210, stop by if you have any questions or concerns about the course at all.
