Crocs are Not Shoes

"Crocs shoes for everyone!" (Shop Crocs). Crocs shoes are definitely not for everyone. This shoe has suddenly swept across the nation and has stolen everyone's fashion sense. Unfortunately this type of shoe was “founded by Lyndon Hanson, Scott Seamans, and George Boedecker in July, 2002. Based in Boulder, Colorado the firm was created to market a lightweight plastic shoe first developed and manufactured by Foam Creations Inc. of Quebec, Canada”(Wikipedia). This "shoe" should not have the privilege of being called a shoe; it should be called ugly plastic clogs that come in every color, even puke.

"Originally intended as a boating/outdoor shoe because of its slip-resistant, non-marking sole, Crocs introduced its first model, the Crocs Beach, in November 2002 at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, selling out the 200 pairs produced at that time”(Yahoo Crocs). If the original intent was for boating, it should have stayed that way. Crocs are in no way appealing to the eye and do not do anyone justice, in fact, those who wear crocs look like they have chubby funny looking feet. Many people believe that shoes make the outfit and that is one hundred percent true if one were to use crocs as an example. For instance, an individual can be wearing the cutest outfit, however, if this outfit is accompanied by wearing crocs the “cutest outfit ever” instantly becomes unflattering due to the hideous plastic clogs.

While some regard Crocs shoes as comfortable and colorfully decorated, others see them as a fashion disaster, and a sub culture has emerged of people who vocally oppose the shoes” (I Hate Crocs). Even though they may be “comfortable”, I do not understand how anyone can be socially and fashionably comfortable knowing they have one of the ugliest products ever made on their feet. Published author Maddox of The Best Day in the Universe declared: "Crocs have the rare combination of being expensive, poor quality, and ugly” (Croc Epidemic).  Sometimes I wonder if people buy them because the shoe made for, boating is comfortable or because they think its trendy; newsflash it’s not trendy.

In my experience I have yet to find a person who actually thinks they are appealing and flattering. My advice to the world is unless you are an avid person who boats or a dancer who wears clogs leave the crocs at home. Do the world a favor and wear them in one’s house where no one can see them. Wear them while one gardens just not out on the streets where one can be seen with the hideous plastic clogs.
