Welcome to the wonderful world of Home Brewing

with Mr. Bill

5/09/05

Well this my feeble attempt at a web site. I decided to do

this to document my home brewing experiences, and to help

out my fellow crazies over at  mrbeerfans.com . I use the

Mr. Beer Home Brewing system, one cos the spouse got  it

for me for Christmas, but also for its ease of use, ability to

make really great home brew. Small batch size (ie cost per

batch) and its small size, takes up very little space compared

to a 5 gal. setup. I will update as I start new brews, at the

left is what I currently have going on, each beer will have

its own page with the recipe for the beer and brewing

notes during the process and finished product pics .

Enjoy !!!!!!!

Bottled the IPA yesterday, started my Honey Porter today.

Bit of a Wilson on both, primed 4 bottles of the IPA with

1/4t too much corn sugar, and pitched yeast on the Porter

at 62*. Stuck the keg in sink of hot water, got it up to 68*.

Hopefully I'm ok .

5/13/08

Brewed up the Witty Honey Monk,  "started" the yeast with

2 tbl. of the honey and water "boiled" b4 I added the beer

mix. I will do this from now on, fermentation "took" off in

only 8 hours, no lag time at all.

5/15/08

Witty Honey Monk still chugging away like crazy, 2.5 in.

krausen still on top, no sign of falling off yet. Krausen fell

on the Porter on 5/13 , think I'll go 3 weeks on both with

all the added honey.

5/22/08

Quick update. IPA 12 days in bottle, going in the fridge

today, gonna try 2nd Bt. tonight. Honey Porter 11 day ferm.

Tried a taste today, wonderful, should be ready to bottle this

weekend. Witty Honey Monk 9 day ferm. Tried a taste today

as well, pretty tasty, stills needs some more time, shoot for

Mon. or Tue. bottle.

Been awhile...started my "Some Kind" of Red Ale tonight. If

I can stay awake I'll have the notes up in a bit...if not look

tomorrow !!

7/2/08

Bottled my "Some Kind" of Red Ale today after a 14 day

ferment, looked good tasted good, nice dark red color.

7/4/08

Started my Coopers 5 gal. batch split between 2 Mr. Beer

kegs, also tried steeping grains on this one, look at link at

the left for details...I have a very good feeling on this one.

7/17/08

Bottling the Coopers split Sat.  2 empty kegs..what to brew?

7/22/08

Bottled the Coopers Split after 18 day ferment.

10/28/08

Ok...about time to update this page, Brew pipeline updated

to the left, computer was down for almost 2 months, will try

to get things updated. All of the beers in the drinking section

turned out wonderful, The Coopers Stout and Wormys PHP

were very good ! Have tried the Ottos , early on it shows

great promise !  Will be bottling my Honey Bock tomorrow.

The Voodoo was very good as well !

11/12/08

Well I'm still here somewhat .. Being very lazy on updates

From here on out I'll update brews here. But the recipies

and pics will be on  mrbeerfans.com. Join or just lurk but

look for my posts . I'll keep the pipeline updated here

but if ya want details go to mrbeerfans.com  Started my

Orphan Kitty Honey Brown . Took off like a bat out of hell

5 days in and still heavy krausen... Tried the trub bottle of

my KU IPA after just 8 day carb. Already a wonderful

brew. Going to my sisters for Thanksgiving with 6 brews

for all the family to sample. Should be a wonderful time!

Have tried 2 bottles of the Honey Bock (early) one word
