What is T.A.B.?

The Teen Advisory Board (T.A.B.) is a group of teenage volunteers representing the New Baltimore and Chesterfield area middle and high schools. (Homeschoolers welcome too!) They hold monthly meetings to plan special teen activities for the library. They earn community service hours throughout the year for participating in the 'adopt a bookshelf' program at the library and for assisting with special projects as they come up.

You may qualify if you are:

  • Between the ages of 12 and 18 (junior high or high school)
  • Male or Female
  • Tall enough to reach our standard bookshelves
  • Of undetermined weight but considered to be a heavy reader
  • Known to frequent libraries, book stores, local comic book shops
  • Suffering from a reading addiction, and usually have one or two books with you at all times
  • Guilty of ever reading by flashlight under the covers at night when you are supposed to be asleep

Altered Books Program 

 If you’re in grades 7 through 12 come over check out our altered book program on Thursday October 22nd at 4:30 pm…
 

 We’ll be taking discarded books and customizing them using all sorts of creative items like stamps, scrap-booking supplies, writing, ribbons, and more – the sky’s the limit! The books can become journals, scrapbooks, photo albums, or simply works of art to display.
