Our Purpose The HOPE Ministry of Memorial Park Church is a community of Christ-followers who create and maintain a safe haven for those who seek acceptance, healing, guidance, encouragement, and accountability as they actively pursue employment placement. More simply said, we promote hope as we help others to pursue employment. Our help is extended to those who have been laid-off, terminated, entering the job market for the first time and those who are re-entering the job market after a hiatus. If you are a college student, you will especially benefit from the wisdom of experienced job-seekers and leaders in business. This ministry is led by a steering team under the direction of Administrative Pastor, Paul Becker. Memorial Parkers Helping Each Other: LinkedIn The top three job search strategies for the Pittsburgh job market are networking, Networking, NETWORKING! You are invited to join an online networking community on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is Facebook with a productive purpose. It allows you to develop an online resume that communicates your work history, accomplishments, training and education. Your information can be seen by other Memorial Park members and... the people on their personal networks! What this means is this: If you know John Doe of MPC and you see that he has someone on his network who works for a company that you are interested in, you can ask John Doe to introduce you to his friend. Once this is done, the ball is in your court to use the connection to your advantage. You are encouraged to develop an profile and join the "HOPE Ministry" group. Once your membership in the group is approved, you will be able to communicate with MPC members to share and received notices of employment. If you need assistance with this, contact Pastor Paul. | If you have a job lead, please send your lead to Pastor Paul
(pbecker@memorialparkchurch.org). Your lead will be forwarded to the
Ministry distribution list. If you are looking for employment, please email Pastor Paul (pbecker@memorialparkchurch.org) to set up an appointment for an evaluation of where you are in your job search so that we can tailor an approach to support your efforts to find employment. Some Have Found Work, Others are Encouraged to Stay the Course Yes, we've heard testimonies of God's provision of new employment opportunities! We have also seen the ministry of encouragement and exhortation at work in our midst. The promise of 1 Peter 4 is that when hardships are faced, we are to trust in God who created us and to continue doing good, even when it is hard to do. If you are looking for a new employment situation, don't do it alone. Let us walk with you along your journey! Meetings: We meet the 1st Thursday of each month, 7-8:30 PM. Before attending a meeting, we ask that you make an appoint with Pastor Paul first. The meeting room assignment can be seen on the monitor in the church Welcome Center as you enter the main entrance.
