Moving On Syracuse

Moving On is a volunteer organization that provides a safe environment for singles and singles again, to meet new people for friendship and support.  We offer a forum for the discussion of topics of interest of mature single persons who are ready to move on to new beginnings, and to setting new goals. Moving On is not a support group for people going through initial trauma of separation, divorce or widowhood.  While members are free to date, it is not a dating service.  These functions are left to other groups.

There are discussions at 7:00 pm on the 2nd Wednesday at  St. Joseph, the Worker School 1001 Tulip St. Liverpool NY. Map  There were no discussions during July and August. We meet upstairs in Room 7.

If you enter from 250ish 6th Street and park behind the school you can enter the school on the second floor.  Then Room 7 is the last room to the right. 
 
May has Mother's Day and the discussion will be about our mothers.   Also bring something for show and tell.

If you park in front and enter on the first floor, go to your left, up the stairs, and then turn right and room 7 is the last room on the right.
Moving On The Town (MOTT)  are Dutch treat dinners at various area restaurants on the fourth Monday of the month.  The restaurant menu can usually be found on their website.  Click here  for more information and to reserve a seat.  Meet at 6:15 pm to read the menu and order promptly at 6:30 pm.   Call Ellen (315) 480-4213 or Diane (315) 426-2880

MOTT – Monday, May 28, MEMORIAL DAY -

Celebrate Memorial Day with CNY Singles at Chapman Park , Bridgeport Map from 12:00 – 5:00pm. Bring your own lunch and a snack to pass – grills are also available to use. Enjoy hiking, biking, fishing and boating. For further information call Betty at 458-7555.

 The first ten Moving On members to call Diane at  426-2880 for this event will receive the first well drink and hors d’oeuvres free courtesy of the restaurant. Some of us will stay for soup, salad or dinner. Deadline is Tuesday, April 10 at noon.

 

Strawberry Social Dance

Monday June 25, from 6:00 to 9:00pm

at Onondaga Yacht Club

There will be strawberry shortcake or a strawberry sundae, lemonade, iced tea, door prizes and raffles.

Live music by: Dr. Paul

This is an open to the public fund raiser for Moving On.

The Onondaga Yacht Club is located in Onondaga Lake Park. It is at the end of Sycamore Street, Liverpool NY. Map    Onondaga Lake Trail is, of course, the walking trail.   Parking is limited at the yacht Club so it is best to walk down from either the boat launch parking at the end of Vine Street, or the Salt Museum parking lot on Willow Street.

Cost is only $9.00 per person or $16.00 for two people for an Strawberry shortcake, sundae and dance music.

Walk at the Inner Harbor

Monday, April 9 and April 30, “Flip a Coin Walk”, At 6:30 pm meet at the corner of Inner Harbor parking lot, near the corner of W Kirkpatrick and Van Rensselaer Streets, Syracuse NY Map. We will flip a coin and see which way we will be walking – toward the city or toward the lake. Please call Diane at 426-2880 and let her know who will be walking.
