Adapting the Gospel to the Audience

In launching and building movements there are certain principles that remain the same. For example we always seek to Win people to Christ, Build them in their faith, and Send them to do likewise—Win, Build, Send.

Yet every ethnic or affinity group has unique characteristics which require us to make adaptations in the way we do ministry. The apostle Paul modeled such adaption in his missionary endeavors stating that, "To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law . . . (1 Corinthians 9: 20).

When we make such adaptions in how we do ministry we call it contextualizing. That is, we are seeking to translate the gospel into the context of that culture or affinity group, and making the gospel as accessible as possible. Currently, these are Campus Crusade's contextualized ministries.
