Getting Started with MoveAbout

  • First, pick a coordinator in your company, neighborhood, or group. This person is in charge of distributing individual logs and collecting them at the end. They also are encouraged to motivate all participating members throughout the program. Once the coordinator is established, they should email the current Moveabout coordinator at Moveaboutcoordinator@gmail.com Check out the MoveAbout Coordinator Manual.
  • Decide your organization's start and stop date. The spring program usually begins in early March and fall has been moved to late November.The 2010 Fall Buncombe County kick off date for this year is November 22nd.
  • Distribute individual registration (word or PDF) materials to employees or members of your organization.
  • Your coordinator should complete and return your organization's registration form (word or PDF).
  • Make sure everyone has a copy or electronic version of the physical activity log (word or PDF) to record your minutes of activity.
  • Encourage yourself and others! Use tools on the Worksite Wellness Toolbox to make your workplace a healthier, more postive work environment.
  • Upon completion of the 10 weeks, logs should be returned to your organization's coordinator.  The coordinator will tally the number of participants and minutes of activity for the group and submit the name of everyone returning logs for the prize drawing.
