according to Joan, a pioneer music therapist. A graduate of Michigan State
University, she was named Senior of the Year by the faculty. Her career has included clinical work in St.
Louis, teaching faculty at Maryville University, and authorship of three music
therapy books. She is also proud Mom to three top notch adults and enthusiastic Grandma to six fine young people. She and her husband, Roger, a physicist by vocation, participated in numerous musical events in St. Louis, Missouri, where she played viola in an orchestra and string quartet, piano in a Dixieland band and sang with a vocal quartet. Now they enjoy an active retirement in the Rocky Mountains hiking, skiing, backpacking, rehearsing, singing, traveling or marveling at Grand County, and especially providing music for outdoor weddings.
