Joan Shaw has recently published MOUNTAIN I DOs.
Tales of weddings and music in the mountains.

MOUNTAIN I DOs is a book about the funny, touching, and bizarre events that result when brides follow their dreams of outdoor weddings in the mountains of Colorado. Joan Shaw, a well known author in her field of music therapy, plays the viola in a trio which has provided classical music for hundreds of such weddings. She uses her extra time and keen eye to catch the details as these ceremonies wend their way through rain, snow, wind, horse manure and much more. Her telling of these vignettes is witty and pointed. A perfect Christmas gift for everyone who loves weddings.

Mountain weddings often carry with them special challenges. Wind is always present and often brings with it rapid changes in the weather. One story tells just the opposite, however. A delay of an hour saw the gale winds only pick up further but the groom was adamant about being married outdoors. The trio ended up with a young volunteer holding tight to each music stand to prevent it from blowing over.
