News

January 5, 2007- I just found out that they had started making Halo for the Nintendo DS! It has been cancelled, but here is the link!

December 15, 2006- The Wii will be available everywhere on the 17th! This includes Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Wal Mart, GameStop, and EB Games. We have had somebody camped out in front of our store since Wednesday night. Crazy!

December 9, 2006- Another crazy story. I was asked about a week ago to babysit my Dad's friends kids. I wasn't sure whether I was working or not, so I told them I'd have to check. As it turned out, I wasn't scheduled to work that night. I asked my manager if there was any way I could come in, because I would rather work thatn baby-sit. He said sure, he could get me to come in for a few hours. Well, they came in the day before I was supposed to sit and asked if I was working or not. Unfortunately, one of the SGA's had overheard the conversation, and told them that yes, I was working because I was trying to avoid babysitting some kids! Plus, I had dinner with them the nex night and had no idea that that was what they thought. All I wanted to do was to get some work hours in, and it got turned around to sound like something it wasn't. Eh... What can you do?

November 30, 2006- I have started adding images to my freebies list.

November 27, 2006- The Wii is amazing! It is absolutely going to dominate the market within 2 years. The 360 has a chance though, because of the better graphics and Live, and the PS3 will be gone in 3 years.

November 19, 2006- Wii is here! Got some funny stories for you....

The Phone Call

On Nov. 19 I had to work at the midnight launch for the Wii. Everything was going perfectly until 11:40. We received a phone call from a woman who sounded like she was drunk. She told us that she wanted a Wii and that she was going to come up to our store naked and get one. When we told her no, she asked whether we thought she was hot or not. The Senior Game Advisor who had picked up the phone told her that she was drunk and then hung up. We laughed about it and proceeded to get ready for the launch. The we got another call. This time is was a guy. The SGA talked to him for about 10 seconds and then put it on speaker phone. The guy sounded pissed off. He started yelling at us and asking what we said to his wife. We told him nothing and he said he didn’t believe us and that he was coming up to talk to us man to man. We all started freaking out. The SGA dialed 911 and then hung up really quick. He wanted to call the EB Games up the street and see what he could do. We tried calling them a few times, but we couldn’t get a hold of them. Then the phone rang again. I thought it might have been the cops, so I picked it up. It was EB. They asked if we had just pissed some guy off on the phone. I said yeah. He asked to talk to our SGA and I passed the phone over. Then my SGA said that they sucked. I was wondering what was going on until it hit me. It was them! It was the guys over at EB Games! I was seriously pissed off. About 15 minutes later, we had a cop show up too. Ha! Crazy….

The Attempted Sale

After we closed up, we all went over to Wendy’s for some food. We just hung out in the parking lot and talked about what had happened earlier. Then somebody brought up the idea of selling this one guys Wii to the people camped out in front of Target for $400. The guy wasn’t really sure, but we talked him into at least trying. So, we finished up our food and set out for Target. We were all revving our engines and  we pulled into three adjacent spots. Then we got out and walked up to the store. I totally felt like a gang member, it was weird. We announced the deal to them and a few people looked at us very wary, like they thought we were going to rob them. We announced it again and one by one they started ignoring us. It’s funny how when people are faced with a situation that they are uncomfortable with, they tend to imagine it doesn’t exist. Anyways, we decided to give up and head out. By that time, it was about 1:45 in the morning, so they probably just wanted to wait it out. Oh well, worth a try….

November 17, 2006- PS3 is here....

November 13, 2006- The Wii has arrived! My stores' Wii came in today. I took pictures with my cellphone, but there's no way to get them off. I actually got to unpack it though. Unfortunately, no controllers or discs.... Have to wait for the Nintendo Rep. to show up.

November 8, 2006- Gears of War and Call of Duty 3 are out today!

November 7, 2006- We are now accepting reservations for Halo 3. There are three versons of the game. The original game will retail for $59.99 and has a minimum reservation cost of $5. The Special Edition game will retail for $79.99 and has a minimum reservation cost of $10. The Legendary version of the game will retail for $99.99 and has a minimum reservation cost of $25. The legendary set comes with three discs about the history of the seres and other stuff. It also comes packaged in an Official Spartan Helmet.

November 3, 2006- The Wii will be playable at GameStop on November 13th. Make sure you bring your ID card though, because we will have to take it from you in order for you to play it. This is to prevent theft of the ~WIRELESS~ (yes it's been confirmed) controllers. I don't have any proof except for my word. My manager left his email up and I saw what I have shared with you.

I am a Game Advisor at GameStop. Any new information I recieve I will post here.
