UPDATED (2/09/09)

This isn't a story.

UPDATED (1/31/09)

Second new story of 2009, only this one is a SCRIPT! Ooohh...neat. Once again, you should know where to get it.

UPDATED (1/16/09)

First new story of 2009, easily reaches my Top 3 faves. But yeah, it's awesome, and I worked my ass off on it. Hope you like it. You know where to find it.

UPDATED (1/12/09)

I've added in my first new feature of 2009: the support logos. Just look over at the sidebar and click support my page. Please do this, as it increases my site publicity, which I need to keep this homepage alive. Tell your friends.

Also, I'll start writing my first story of the alphabet tonight, and you'll have to come on here to read it

UPDATED (1/2/09)

As the New Year rolls in, we've gotta change too, which is my theme for the year: change. What better place to start than a webpage? There's going to be a buttload of renovation and stuff going on here in the next year.

First, if I can't promise everything, I can at least promise you one thing: more stories. People seem to enjoy them, which is why I've drafted up a story for every letter of the alphabet, releasing them one by one until the last story is finished in December. Some will be short. Some will be novels. I even have a couple script ideas laying around. So if you can't come here for much else, please come for the writing, because '09 will be THE year for that.

The site might be going through some new looks through the year as well. I'm finding ways to make viewing my page easier, trying cleaner layouts, just expirimenting around to see what sticks. You'll see the first changes right now.

Finally, to boost page views (which have been semi-lackluster in '08), I'm starting to consider ways to get some promotion on here. In the meantime, I'll just give you the new look to chew on.

What's going to happen next? Log in soon and you'll find out.

UPDATED (12/31/08)

BOTTOM 5 OF 2008

I can begin the process of UPGRADING this site in the future, guys, but today, I want to wish everybody a wonderful New Year with their friends and family. There are bigger things in life than the Internet. (Man, I'm a hypocrite.)

I hope to see you in a couple days, rested and well. We have a big year ahead of us.

-Moses

UPDATED (12/29/08)

As 2008 wraps up, I've written one final story that you can get to by...um...checking the sidebar menu. It should be clear where to click.

Another blurb tomorrow.

-Moses

UPDATED (12/18/08)

New blurb about everybody's favorite topic: Twilight. Go read. Mug of hot drink is optional.

-Moses

UPDATED (12/13/08)

David wanted me to bring the word-count back, so it's there until January. You're welcome.

And there are FOUR short stories from White Space that I released. Consider this the preview of the quality of writing the book will bring (hopefully). Check the poetry and stories section NOW! And yes, that is an order.

Happy gingerbread-consuming days.

-Moses

UPDATED (12/03/08)

No more word count. I'm over it. Now I need to start the long, long, long process of editing.

UPDATED (11/29/08)

Sometimes what a person can do can amaze even yourself. You might actually study hard for once and get that A you desire so much, or you do something nice for someone you don't know. I wrote 50,103 words in 29 days, and that is a feat I will be greatly challenged to top even later.

When I first began writing White Space, my plan was simple: write to 50,000 words. The end. Then things got crazier and harder. I found myself finishing the book at 30,000 words. I started hating my characters. I started a second novel. I began having a craving for tacos in the middle of every SINGLE WRITING SESSION. But in the end, what I pooped out of my head was something that was weird but I loved it so much I don't care. White Space turned from a 50,000 word-long borefest filler work into a flawed but strong 35,000 word novella with a piece of another novel attached at the end and 4 (count 'em!) completely unrelated short stories added in at the beginning to fill in the rest of the word count. But there is no denying that it was fun as hell all the way.

I have too many people to thank for getting me there (one day early, too!) I need to thank my family for not getting steamed at me for the 29 days I didn't go to bed on time. I need to thank my teachers for going fairly easy on the homework this time around. I need to thank you guys for checking up here all the time and carrying me all the way. All of you are more than I could ever ask for, and you keep my life from being white space. (I seriously wasn't intending a pun there, I swear.)

If you think this is the last you'll hear from me, you've got another thing coming next year. ;-)

-Moses

PS Sorry to blather even more, but check around the poetry and stories section. Check novels. Check White Space. You've got some new info comin' your way.

UPDATEAMUNDO (11/26/08)

I am officially a person who is getting there. Will I not blow off my work and live to see the end of my 50,000th word? Tune on starting tomorrow all the way out to Sunday night and you might be the first one to find out.

Also, Happy Thanksgiving, you awesome nuts.

-Moses

ps. Log on tomorrow and you will see something very special in the poetry and stories section. Hint: NOVEL. You get the idea.

REUPDATED (11/22/08)

I wrote a blurb about something very important to me and anybody who's ever been hurt by a stranger. It would mean so much to me if you took 5 minutes to read it. I need some perspective. Am I alone?

UPDATED (11/22/08)

Wow....I'm amazed. 24 new guestbook messages over 12 hours? This is amazing!

I'll respond to some of the people in the guestbook right now. Thanks for the support and the commentaries...and the sharing of personal things.

-Moses

PS. Ever notice how the only thing I'm writing about is my novel nowadays? Just wait it out for 8 more days. The insanity is almost over.

UPDATED (11/21/08)

Screw ditching, I'm adding so much to the novel now that I'm screwing my head loose at points. 33,004 words on White Space and 1,114 on my NEW novel! Sadly, I'm still 900 words behind because I didn't write for two days.

UPDATED (11/19/08)

Okay, I've hit a ditch in my noveling plans.

I finished it. At 30,562 words.

That sounds good and all, but the fact is that I'm supposed to write a 50,000 word novel. 50,000!! That's, like, 19,438 words to write into the story!

So, any suggestions go into the guestbook. You know the drill by now.

Suggestions would be highly valued.

Lots of love, Moses

UPDATED (11/16/08)

I was stuck in a cave without Internet access for three days and I couldn't update my word count, but now I'm HALFWAY ACROSS! Granted, about 4,000 of those words are either excerpts from older stories or flashbacks, but who cares?

UPDATED (11/13/08)

Heh, suckers, didn't see that +7,000 blammo coming to my word count, did you? :grins:

EDIT: Make that +10,000!

UPDATE (11/10/08)

Aforementioned blurb has not been written, but I have written the foreword for it, so check there. Updated word count too.

UPDATE (11/07/08)

Tomorrow, I'm planning on writing a blurb about something that deeply bothered me today. Log on tomorrow evening to see it. It's urgent. I mean it.

UPDATE (11/01/08)

Happy belated Halloween. Not that I got any candy or anything. Koreans don't believe in that commercialism.

Word count lies at 0 as of 11:49 AM. I have the first two chapters down in notes though, so that'll change in a couple of days. Just chill. It'll be done by December 1.

See you for now.

-Moses

ps. Oh, and I'm writing a blurb right now. Stay on to see it in about five minutes.

EDIT: First chapter is written, weighs in at 1,615 words. See that line at the top? That's where the word count will be. Check there.

UPDATE (10/27/08)

Wow, that's a first. Another update in two days?

Anyway, you can see my book cover on the poetry and stories page now. Nothing on the plot yet, but at least this'll give you some ideas.

Too much homework. Want a list?

-memorize 36 Chinese characters.

-942-951 pages AND quick checks

-Character map

-16 math problems

-Some weird packet

-Excel spreadsheet

UPDATE (10/25/08)

Replied to everyone in the guestbook. Thanks for the awesome support, guys.

And I will start writing my novel on....November 1, and will update my word count weekly. You may begin whooping now.

UPDATE (10/16/08)

Minor updates. Pulled some embarrasing info on my contact page and published "Lemon". Check poetry and stories.

And I'm pulling the old guestbook page since everything directly flows to the guestbook now. Also adding my photo at the top and (gasp) a new section! blurbs will be whatever random things I'm thinking about. Sometimes it'll be a journal issue, or a song review, really anything. Nothing in it yet, but that's bound to change. Life's been a crackdown lately, especially considering the influx of homework and my sudden obsession with the most unrelated things I can think of (like Silent Hill, or the lady on the subway that keeps yelling at someone else on the phone while everyone around her silently sits and waits for her to shut up. Or moves down to the next car when she starts making hand gestures at the person on the other end of the phone.)

Don't turn the screen off.

-Moses

UPDATE (10/13/08)

http://www.nanowrimo.org/

Check it out. I signed up for it.

ps all my luggage just came in from America and I found three more stories I didn't finish, so now I have even MORE stuff to finish. I'm actually thinking about just not writing my 5-page novel and compiling a collection of my short stories instead.

and the guestbook link actually links to the guestbook now, I'm going to remove the middle-page altogether right now.

UPDATE (10/6/08)

Got rid of that annoying topbar that sounded way too obvious (CHECK OUT THIS PAGE DOODERS BECAUSE I'M MOSES) that made me look like one of those kids who has no life (i.e. spends so much time on the Internet he can perfect his site to every detail). Anyway, I wish I had more time to work on my writing. Homework sucks.

Can't wait for winter break. Tired. Overloaded with work to do. Will upload photos later.

-Moses

ps Oh...and Sofi, hey! I miss you, buddy! Hope you're doing well. Keep in touch!

UPDATE (9/30/08)

I finished a short story. Check the poetry and stories section.

ps It's for you, Ryan Stone. Check it out or else.

UPDATE (9/29/08)

You will not believe this, but I just found one of my old flash drives and decided to check it out. And look what treasure was on the screen? Britni Goes To McDonald's, one of my oldest stories ever. I'm talking prehistoric old (actually pre-August old). It wasn't finished, and guess what? I didn't finish it, if that's what you're thinking. But believe me, I will finish this today or tomorrow, and upload it as soon as I do. What a surprise, huh? Right when I decided to not write any more short stories until my so-called novel (as of now clocking in at a whopping 5 pages) was finished?

Coming soon: more photos and stories. Don't log off.

-Moses

UPDATE (9/20/08, three minutes after 9/19/08 ended)

EDIT: Lastly, I finally uploaded my entire summer school photo collection to Megadumpload and you can download it right NOW! That sounded pretty forceful, so I'll tone it down a bit. Just check out the art/photos section.

And by the way, I just added a sidebar to the poetry and stories section. Should make my profane inappropriate tales a lot easier to get to. This site is one more step closer to becoming inappropriate for little children. I'm sorry, PTA mothers.

UPDATE (9/19/08)

I kept my promise and finished three chapters of my first novel. Ever.

In case you're wondering, it's not a nasty perversion like most of my other stories have been. It's pretty deep. It'll MoVe ThE WoRlD sO BaD aLL tHe OThER PlaNEts wILL fALl oUT Of oRBiT. Maybe that's true. Maybe not. Maybe I'll stop typing creative parts of my writing weird. Fat chance.

Nothing about the plot yet. Must remember to tell you guys before I finish it.

It's probably going to be long as hell in Word, but that's mainly because 1) I use a lot of three-word sentences and 2) I use a lot of one-sentence paragraphs. Under normal circumstances, I'd be pressed to admit that it's crap and start over, but how brief the writing is is a reflection on the character's way of thinking. And what do you know, there's your first clue.

More to come soon. I WILL keep this site tidy and well (unlike the other 17 sites I started and never kept) so check back for more writing updates!

-Moses

UPDATE (9/6/08)

Just to let you know, I'm not exactly a stickler with updating websites, which explains the long hiatus in updation. I'm sorry.

In any case, I'm looking for new ideas for this site. You guys come here regularly, you rock and I'm doing this with your support. If you have anything you'd like to see on this site in the future, drop me a line in the guestbook.

As for the novel, I actually haven't started yet. I've been too busy reading and school and other assorted junk. In any case, I WILL GET THIS DONE THIS YEAR.

Stay logged on.

-Moses

UPDATE (8/23/08)

I kept my promise and finished Part 1 of what could possibly be quite a long story. It's not the super long project, but it turned out quite nice. It's been sitting in my WIP for quite some time now. Check the poetry and stories section.

Thanks to everyone for staying logged on. Keep tuned for more updates! Next week, there will be a HUGE surprise coming. What is it? Well, you'll have to come here to find out, won't you? ;-)

Peace out.

-Moses

UPDATE (8/16/08)

Nothing new right now, sorry. I just moved to KOREA (freaking humid here), of all places, so now I'm busy with school and stuff. So I'm sorry, but I'll still update once a week, so it's okay.

I'm still writing stories, so don't worry! It's just that I'm busy with Stepmania and studying, so I don't have much time these days. But you can still expect one more comedy story in about a week and then I'm working on one very looong project that will be my best ever. I promise.

UPDATE (7/30/08)

Holy crap, was that earthquake insane or what? A candle came down and almost broke. Also, a bunch of china dolls fell off the fireplace shelf. Thank God there was a box of tissue paper on the fireplace. I could be a paraplegic right now.

Anyway, I wrote another story. Well, technically not a story. According to Mrs. Kludt, there must be a conflict for it to be a story, but unless you count Mrs. Stanford VS her conscience as a conflict, this isn't a story. In any case, it's fun to read. Check the poetry and stories section.

Also, I'll upload some photos hopefully next month. It'll come eventually.

Peace out.

UPDATE (7/27/08)

I wrote two more stories, The Substitute and Mom's Day of Doom. Check the poetry and stories section for more.

UPDATE (7/20/08)

Okay, I was hecka busy for the past week, so sorry for not updating.

Today was the last time I saw Pastor Al. ;-( Why does saying bye have to be so painful? It sucks. But thanks to Pastor Al for teaching me many things over one year, and was it the most amazing year ever. I can amen to that.

Stay logged on. I'm adding more stuff here when I can, so keep here for updates!

UPDATE (7/11/08)

I added a sidebar! Yay! Should make navigating easier. Also, I'm going to start adding lots of random surprises around here, so...

UPDATE (7/10/08)

I just made this website. Pretty cool, huh? Right now, I have summer school. I'm doing creative writing and art and photography. It's fun, I must say.

Am I getting too self-involved? Sorry. Like I said before, I talk a lot. You can leave some stuff in my guestbook if you want. Otherwise, check out some of the art or photos I've done, or read some of my wacky poetry and stories. Even better, hit me up on Facebook sometimes (search Moses Kim). always cool to meet new friends!

Lastly: check out my friend's website! It's over here.

Bye, for now.
