3rd Trimester
Reading:
Practicing long o words and double vowel words. "When 2 vowels go a walking the first one does the talking." Our book contest came to an end. We voted as a school on our favorite book. Mrs. Polk will announce the winning book soon. We hope to see our favorite books in the library! We have started creating mental images when we hear and read a story. We like to close our eyes while Mrs. Morris reads the stories. We really enjoyed Grandfather Twilight. The story also helped up to develop our ability to question before, during, and after reading.

Writing:
We have just finished our 2nd trimester writing asssessment. We worked on creating a pre-write, draft, and published copy of our work.
We will soon be starting our poetry unit.
Math:
We have taken our knowledge of graphing to now creating graphs and tables. We ask and answer comparison questions about the data we see. Some key vocab words are: data, table, graph, more, less, fewest, least and compare.
Science:
We will soon be finishing up our Families in Our Community social studies unit. Our Nutrition unit will begin soon.
5th Grade Buddies:
We synergized by working in groups to complete puzzles.

Classroom Events
100 book party!:
Please join our classroom on Friday, April 15th from 1:45-2:30. We will be celebrating reading our 100th classroom book. We will celebrate by doing none other than...reading of course!
