        1. The Assurance of Salvation--"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." 1 John 5:11-12

        3. The Assurance of Victory--"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man.  And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."  1 Corinthians 10:13

                What else do we believe
                   Top

                1. We believe that the Bible is God's chosen means of revealing Himself to us. We believe it is His expression of love and our final authority for all matters of faith and life. Psalm 119:105-112; John 14:23-26; Romans 1:18-23; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; Hebrews 4:12-13; 2 Peter 1:20-21
                2. We believe all mankind have sinned, and that our sin has brought death and suffering into this world.  Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23
                3. We believe that Jesus Christ is God and that it is through His sacrifice on the cross that we are saved and have hope for eternal life. It is in Him alone that we find forgiveness of our sins and a new relationship with our Creator.  Col 2:9-10, Hebrews 9:22, Eph 1:7, Eph 1:19-23, Rom 1:4, Rom 5:8, Ephesians 2:6,7
                4. We believe it is only by the grace of God that anyone is saved. We access this grace by an obedient faith in the One who gave Himself freely for us. Christ did the work that we could never do. Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:4-7
                5. We believe that we must personally accept the gift of grace for ourselves. In scripture, after hearing the good news and believing in His name, the first converts repented of their former way of life, and were immersed in water (baptized) for the forgiveness of their sins. We believe and teach that we must do the same. Acts 2:38, John 1:12, Romans 6:3, Colossians 2:12
                6. We believe the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One Is.9:6
                7. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.  John 15:4-5, Eph.2:10, Romans 8:28
                8. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.Eph. 4:2-6, 1Cor.12:12-26
                9. We believe in giving special focus in our weekly worship time to the celebration of the Lord's Supper
It is a time of renewal and remembrance in His death, burial, and resurrection and our new life in the body of Christ. Luke 22:19, 1 Cor.11:23-26

                SCRIPTURE REFERENCES   Top
(From the What else we Believe section)
                1.    Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path…Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. Psalm 119:105,111

Jesus replied, “If anyone loves Me, he will obey my teaching.  My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.  He who does not love Me will not obey My teaching.  These words you hear are not My own; they belong to the Father who sent me. John 14:23-26

All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of
God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16

For the word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12-13

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.  For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:20-21.
                2.    For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

                3.    For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the Head over every power and authority. Colossians 2:9-10

In Him (Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace which He lavished on us.  Ephesians 1:7

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Hebrews 9:22

Through the Spirit of holiness He was declared, with power, to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead; Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 1:4

God demonstrates His own love for us in this; while we were sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

                4.    For it is by grace you have been saved through faith- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.  He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7

                5.    Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

"Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."Acts 2:38
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. Acts 2:41

Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
                Romans 6:3
...having been buried with Him in baptism and raised with Him through your faith in the power of God...Colossians 2:12

                6.    "For unto us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders.  And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Is.9:6

                7.    For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works. Eph.2:10

I pray that you may know….  His incomparably great power for us who believe.  That power is like the working of His might strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms. Eph.1:19-23

You however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you…And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who lives in you.  Romans 8:9-11, 28

Remain in Me and I will remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. John 15:4-5

                8.    Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit though the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called—one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Eph. 4:3-6

The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.  For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body… Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.  If the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body…But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be….so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.  Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1Cor.12:12-27

                9.    "Do this in remembrance of Me." Lk.22:19
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you; The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
                1 Cor.11:23-26

"This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." 1 John 4:10-11, 1 John 3:1, 1 John 3:16
