I purchased my first Chow in 1976 from Cherie's Chow Chows (Sherrie Harper). This handsome boy became CH Cherie's Moonshine Sky's The Limit ROM. A year later I added my beautiful, black puppy bitch who became CH JanVan's Moonshine Cassandra ROM and my foundation bitch. Together Sky & Nanu produced some very nice, typey puppies, many of which became AKC champions. Over the years I have had some nice Chows and some extremely nice Chows; they all were cherished members of my family. The Chows I have today are gr-gr-gr-grandchildren of my first dog, Sky. They continue to follow in his pawprints in his winning ways both at home and in the show ring. My goal is still and has always been to produce Chows that are as close to the breed standard as possible. **Be impeccable with your word: Speak with integrity and say only what you mean. Avoid speaking against yourself or others. Never gossip. Use the power of your word in kindness. **Don't Make Assumptions: Don't assume anything! Find the courage to ask questions and express what you need and want. Communicate and be as clear as you can to avoid drama. **Don't Take Anything Personally: What others say and do in their life is how they view the world around them. That is their view. Not yours. Their actions are never because of you. **Always Do Your Best: Always do your best. Know that your best will change from day to day. It is your best, not anyone else's. In all of the circumstances in your life, simply do your best.

Rescue is a big part of Moonshine Chow Chows. There is always at least one rescue Chow at my home either ready for adoption or being conditioned for adoption. If you are considering opening your home & heart to a Chow please consider contacting one of the many Chow Chow Rescue Groups around the country. The dogs available are all ages, sizes, and colors. I have found that a rescue dog makes a wonderful companion as they seem to know that you have given them a second chance at a happy life.
