NewsWith the winter snow, the Monongalia County Community Recycling Center and Solid Waste Authority Office had power outages that caused us to cease operations. We are asking the public to delay their recycling routines as River Road is not safe to travel because of snow-and-ice-laden trees hanging on the power lines.
Also, the public drop-off recycling bins typically get plowed in by the businesses clearing their parking lots of snow. We cannot get out to service our public drop-offs until River Road is safe to travel and we must take a tractor to dig out the recycling bins at the drop-off locations. These circumstances will slow us down considerably. We are asking the public to be patient as we get this accomplished and to NOT leave recycling on the ground by the recycling bins. Unfortunately this is not ideal, but we appreciate the patience of the public while we get everything back up and running.
